The price of gasoline increased by NT$0.1 per liter today, with the price of diesel remaining unchanged, state oil refiner CPC Corp. announced yesterday.
Following the price hike, the prices for 92-, 95- and 98-grade gasoline are NT$33.6, NT$35.1, and NT$37.1 respectively, while super diesel remains NT$32.4 per liter.
CPC attributed the price hike to a declining production capacity utilization rate in the U.S. petrochemical industry, and lower-than-expected U.S. employment figures, both factors which influenced prices in international markets.
According to the company's floating oil price index, which is 30-percent Brent Crude and 70-percent Dubai Crude, international prices rose US$0.30 to US$106.55 per barrel from last week's US$106.25, while the New Taiwan Dollar lost NT$0.017 against the greenback.
This week's price hike represents an increment of 0.27 percent for gasoline, said CPC.
