China saw its output of natural gas increase 9.5% YoY but fall 13.0% MoM to 8.5 billion cubic meters in April this year, said the National Development and Reform Commission in a statement published on its website.
In the first four months, the country produced 37.3 billion cu m of natural gas, 7.8% more than that in the same period of last year.
In November, China's natural gas imports surged 30.6% YoY to 3.3 billion cu m, taking its total import in the first four months to 12.9 billion cu m, 46.9% more than that in the corresponding period of last year and accounting for 25.9% of the country's total consumption.
The apparent consumption of natural gas amounted to 50 billion cu m from January to April, up 16.6% YoY. It rose 13.1% YoY to 10.9 cu m in April.
