China National Petroleum Corp.'s overseas projects produced 50.52 million metric tons of oil equivalent of oil and gas, or 2.03 million barrels of oil equivalent a day, in the first half of 2012, up 3.5% from a year earlier, according to the company's in-house newsletter published Monday.
CNPC's share of output from overseas joint ventures, also known as equity oil, rose to 25.3 million TOE in the first half of 2012, up 4.6% on year, it said.
Iraq's largest oil field, Rumaila--a joint venture between CNPC and BP PLC (BP)--produced 12.05 million tons of crude oil in the first half of the year, up 1.93 million tons from a year earlier.
CNPC's overseas output totaled more than 100 million TOE in 2011 and its equity oil stood at 51.7 million TOE, the state-run agency Xinhua reported earlier.
China's largest energy producer said in November 2010 it aims for overseas production to account for half of its business by 2015.
