Shale Gas Production on the Rise in China

One of the biggest energy-related headlines of 2012 is the United States' vast surplus of natural gas. The nation currently enjoys an historic abundance of this powerful fuel source, an abundance that stems partly from the advent of hydraulic fracking technology but largely from the sheer wealth of shale gas deposits that can be found in America. The U.S. is not the only nation to have these shale gas reserves, however; a recent Wall Street Journal article notes that China has been ramping up its own efforts at shale gas production. This report has won the attention of GWC Valve International, a company that supplies industrial valves to fuel production companies all over the world.

The Journal report notes that China's shale gas production industry is still in its nascent stage, nowhere near as advanced as in the U.S. and not yet ready to reach the point of commercial viability. This has not stopped the country from pouring resources into shale gas production, however, nor has it stopped U.S. companies from investing in China's energy industry.

According to the Journal, China has "huge" shale gas deposits, and production of this natural gas could provide the nation with an energy boon. As such, many American investors are already bidding on partnerships with local Chinese companies.

This finding has attracted the attention of GWC Valve International, a company that is nothing if not familiar with the international energy business. GWC Valve is based in Bakersfield, California, but delivers its industrial valve technology to natural gas suppliers all over the world—including in China. In fact, GWC Valve has two manufacturing divisions that are based in China. The company has responded to the Wall Street Journal report with a new statement to the press.

In its press statement, the company affirms that the shale gas prospects of China are hardly uncommon—that in fact, the company has witnessed similar happenings in other parts of Asia. The company also predicts that, with its Chinese manufacturing centers, it will likely play a big role in the nation's natural gas production. "With similar project line experience in Korean Natural Gas fields, GWC Valve International, Inc.'s product line will certainly be used for this type of project, especially with our local facility in China providing prime series of required valves," says the GWC press statement.

GWC Valve International designs and manufactures industrial valves that are used for natural gas production, crude oil production, mining, marine exploration, and more. The company delivers its products to companies all over the world.
