Yanchang Petroleum is likely to boost its LPG storage capacity at Yan'an refinery by 182% or about 10,000 tonnes in the fourth quarter of this year, a company with the refinery said on 28 August.
The new tanks have been put into trial run and they are expected to be in normal operation in the fourth quarter, said the source.
With these tanks online, Yan'an refinery will have around 15,500 tonnes of storage capacity for LPG. This will help to ease the refinery's stock pressure when sales are sluggish and support its prices to some degree.
Located in Shaanxi province in Northwest China, Yan'an refinery has a topping capacity of 8.00m tonnes a year and normally produces about 1,700 tonnes of LPG a day.
